Mother's Day

My first Mother's Day as a mom of two.  I don't know about you, but I want for Mother's Day is to be the secondary caregiver (or no caregiver)....and I can't be the only one, right? Cole took the girls on Saturday to run errands while I went shopping for some summer stuff and a new Mother's Day outfit for church.  Shopping is by no means by favourite pass time, but anything without toddlers is enjoyable.  On Sunday, he got the girls ready for church and made me breakfast.  K coloured me a card but then took it back later that day thinking it was hers to keep colouring on.  I even managed to get a couple decent pictures with the girls before we left.

Cole also occupied both girls during third block so I could attend Relief Society in peace.  Lately K has been rejecting Nursery- not sure what that's about- so Cole had to spend the last hour in Nursery with both girls.  I was left alone that afternoon for quiet time/nap time and was able to read, write in my journal, talk to my mom and have a small nap.  It was lovely.  While I did that, Cole put away some laundry, cleaned up the mess the kids had made so far and when I got up he made dinner.

He always makes dinner on Mother's Day but this year he made and extra special effort to serve me something really nice that I would appreciate.  He grilled some flank steak and veggies and made fajitas.  He even made me pico de gallo.  Very sweet.  Very tasty.  We walked (K rode her bike) the girls to the park after dinner and played till bedtime (their bedtime).  Then Cole and I watched and movie and went to bed.  The girls' present to me that night was sleeping through the night.  We didn't hear anything from them till 7am the next morning.  Awesome present!
