| Looks like summer to me! |
Yesterday it got up to 27 degrees. It was crazy- on May 14th! I'm not
one who enjoys being hot, so I decided I was going to keep going all
day. I knew if I stopped, the heat would win and I would collapse on
the couch and never get up.
First thing in the morning, we headed to Departure Bay Beach and played for a couple hours: collecting rocks, eating sand and running around. It's a nice easy (as easy as anything can be pushing 2 kids), downhill, ocean-view walk from our house- less than a half hour.

It was so hot in the middle of the day, we spent the time at home. The girls cooled off in the pool and I tidied up, worked out and made dinner. The girls LOVED the little pool and spent lots of time in it. Once B figured out how to get out, she spent most of the time hopping in and out of the pool over and over. See video

And just to make the day a little busier, we dried off, reapplied sunscreen (for like the fourth time), climbed back into the jogger, and headed off to Beban to check out the Farmer's Market and play at the park. I planned both walks (to the beach and to the park) to coincide with Cole getting off a shift so he could pick us up, that way I only had to walk one way.

Needless to say, I was exhausted by the end of the day. The girls weren't as tired as I had hoped. K did pass out at noon in the car on the way home from the beach. I thought that was a good sign but she still wanted more pool time after dinner. B decided to end our day with a pool poop explosion so Cole got to hose down the pool and deck and I got to bathe the girls. Not the end of the day I had been looking for, but what are you going to do? K fell asleep almost right away but B was up crying for a good portion of the evening. I ended up sitting on the couch nursing her for a good hour before I went to bed. But that seemed to do it. When I put her back to bed at 11pm, she was out till almost 8am- no sounds. Thank goodness!! I definitely needed the sleep.
